Extension tube fun!

So i received my set of Kenko Extension tubes today, and wanted to check out what you can do, I paired it up with the almighty 50 1.4. Take a look below.

This is my Ninja Rubber Ducky, shot with a 50 1.4 + a 12mm tube

The rubber is approximately 2″ tall. I put a thumb ring on his head to show a size reference.

Battle of the 50s…

Ladies and gentlemen,

Lets get ready to RUUUMMMBBBLLLLEEEE!!!!!!

In the Red corner we have the heavy hitter, priced at $350, built for speed, and can withstand lots of punishment. 50 f/1.4 USM

In the Blue corner we have the lightweight, priced at measly $90, known to be razor sharp, but slow to move, and not known for its accuracy. 50 1.8 mkii

Ok enough of that…

So i bought both the 50 1.4 and 50 1.8, just to see what the difference was in my shooting conditions. And whatever comes out on top, i will keep. I will be judging the lenses by these categories: Value, Focus speed, Focus Accuracy, and Image quality.

To take some images of said lenses. (keep in mind, this is my first product shot ever… ) I used three peices of printing paper to make a couple walls and a white floor. Lit with 2 580ex’s one set to master and slave, trigger by a Canon off shoe cord. Manual power 1/16 on the left and 1/32 on the right.  Used my Sigma 20mm 1.8 set at iso2oo, f13, 1/200.

Mariah Carey is a Diva, lets see if we can get a laugh from her.

So I just got word from my boss that i will be shooting an event in which Mariah Carey hosts… Personally i am a big fan of musical talent and she can really wale. However i think im going have some fun that night, I have taken photos of her before and she is a real “DIVA”. Meaning you have to shoot her from certain angles, make sure the lighting is perfect, and she asks to see them. If you know me, i am a fun loving guy, whom always smiles on the red carpet, always playful but always professional. I am set on wearing a Mariah Carey tshirt that night, and this is what its gonna look like…

I have worn a “Rocky” shirt to take photos of Sly Stallone, and a “Suits Suck” shirt to shoot the gang of Entourage. It usually makes them laugh and look at me. So i am hoping for the same response from Mariah. She will either be very flattered or down right mean…. Make sure to check back to see what happens…
